CATEGORIES

TEST

There will be one test for all three levels. The pieces must be performed by heart in the solo piano category only. Contemporary music works can be interpreted with a score.

The order of performance will be established alphabetically. However, the competition management reserves the right to modify this order at any time.

PROGRAM

For all categories, the following pieces should be interpreted:

• A baroque or classical piece
• A romantic or an impressionist piece (it can be from a Spanish composer)
• A published piece of the 20th century or contemporary (from 1950 until today), preferably by a Spanish composer or composers from the country of origin of the contestant.

The duration of the three pieces chosen may not exceed a maximum of 10 minutes for Category A, a maximum of 15 minutes for Category B, and a maximum of 20-25 minutes for Category C.

AWARDS

Category A:

• First Prize: Gold Medal and diploma.
• Second Prize: Silver medal and diploma.
• Third Prize: Bronze medal and diploma.

Category B:

• First Prize: Diploma and a collection of music scores.
• Second Prize: Diploma and a collection of music scores.
• Third Prize: Diploma and a collection of music scores.

Category C:

• First Prize: Prize “HINVES” endowed with 500€.
• Second Prize: “Arcadi Volodos” Prize endowed with 300€.
• Third Prize: “ACGK” Prize endowed with 150€.

SPECIAL AWARDS

• «Miguel de Cervantes» Prize, granted by the City Council of Alcalá de Henares, for the best interpretation of Spanish Music in each category of the competition, with the following prizes:
  • Category A (reserved for candidates up to 11 years old on the date of the competition): €300 and a diploma.
  • Category B (reserved for candidates up to 16 years old on the date of the competition): €300 and a diploma.
  • Category C (reserved for candidates up to 25 years old on the date of the competition): €300 and a diploma.
• “AIE” Prize, endowed with 750€ for particitants in Categories A and B.

OTHER AWARDS

• Prize for the “Youngest Contestant”. Gift and Diploma.
• Extraordinary Prize: the winner will receive a master class taught by the prestigious pedagogue Galina Egiazarova, professor at the Reina Sofia School of Music in Madrid.

The organization of the Gran Klavier Contest will invite the winners to participate in a concert in Madrid. The travel, accommodation and subsistence expenses of the participants invited to this concert will be borne by the the Gran Klavier Cultural Association.

REGISTRATION AND ADMISSION

All the necessary documentation must be sent before March 10, 2027, including:

• Registration form duly completed (see the link below to download the form).
• A photocopy of the DNI or passport of each participant.
• A formal invitation request that will allow obtaining a visa to travel from certain countries. Indicate the fax number and addresses where it should be sent.
• In Category C, a brief Curriculum must be attached that exposes the musical training of the candidate and the name of their teachers.
• Receipt of income in the account: IBAN ES61 2095 0469 6091 1580 2442.
• Registration fees for all solo performer categories: €80.
